First, we received an inquiry that the customer needed load cell that used in body scale,and we commended AM21C and AM24A half-bridge load cell two regular type and recommend 50kg capacity,a total of 200kg is commonly used in body scale.With the continuous advancement of technology, robots are increasingly applied across various fields. What we did that helped them to succeed:

First, we received an inquiry that the customer needed a load cell that used in body scale, and we commended AM21C and AM24A half-bridge load cell two regular type and recommend 50kg capacity,a total of 200kg is commonly used in body scale.

But we checked the customer’s website that they are IoT smart fitness solution provider,so to make sure we recommended suitable suggestions, we confirmed with the customer again what exactly the application, and turns out they will be used in fitness equipment,they will add a weighing function on the equipment for their customer,so similar to add a body scale.

After knowing this, we suggest changing the load cell to shear beam load cell AB51B as below,the suggestion is based on our experience that fitness equipment should have an impact when in using,and also the fitness equipment need to bear the whole weight of equipment for long-term,no matter there is people on it or not.And AB51B type also come along with rubber feet that is more suitable for their current design.If have to choose AM21A ,then bigger capacity 100kg is better.

Finally they decided to test both AM21A(100kg) and AB51B(100kg), and after testing in one month, AB51B shows stable performance and higher accuracy for the period, while AM21A always find some big error when used after a couple of days, and they found two possible reasons: one is load cell itself get some drift, and two is load cell structure not very suitable that makes the error.

It turns out AB51B is a good option,but the end customer cannot accept the price of them, so our customer was in dilemma,so after we discuss according to the problem AM21A get, and we recommend AF91A planar load cell,which price is lower than AB51B,but long-term stability is better than AM21A, and also structure can be similar to AB51B.

So AF91A-150kg like below become customer’s final solution and succeeds in their prototypes.Although due to covid,the progress of new products to market slow down,but we are so happy we helped a lot during their R&D phase,and established a cooperative relationship of mutual trust.
