What we did that helped them to succeed:

we got an inquiry from one UK customer for our AM23A load cell for his new project, a small coaster for weighing the material reduction to monitor consumer behavior and transmit data to the cloud.

Load time: long-term load for years

After knowing this information, we think AM23A is the suitable type to use indoors, and also total 12kg (4pcs together) is enough for 5kg and can reduce the influence of creep for the long-term load.

At the same time, we recommend them to test also AM23B (5kg, four pcs) and AM31A (10kg 1pc load cell, which might also be suitable according to our experience in another similar project, AM23B have a bigger capacity and similar structure, AM31A might perform higher accuracy to use one piece only in the center.

Their engineer is open-minded to taking our suggestion on AM23B too, but refused AM31A which is too high for their product design.

And after quick shipping and testing after then, their engineer found a very similar accuracy for the two types, but finally chose AM23B which is acceptable in accuracy but with a bigger capacity to avoid customer accidental overload.

After a trial order of 500 sets in November 2020, and we got 10k sets order in February 2021 for the customer’s first batch to launch to market and keep ordering since then.

And at September 2021, their engineer contacted me for a suggestion to use in their new product, a similar but smaller type, with higher accuracy, max still 5kg. According to the previous cooperation, we know each other so much better that we discussed the new project at a video meeting with their R&D and Mechanical engineer about our AM21A full bridge load cell 10kg, send drawings, some pictures, and give guidance on how to install them.

After one hours meeting, they completely understand most things about this load cell and think it will be suitable for their new design, and we quickly send them some free samples through their FedEx account to do a quick test. And then, their second-generation product faced customer at middle of 2022…… And our story keep going……
